Selective Demolition or Interior demolition is when only parts of a building are removed but the structure remains intact. In this case we were asked to remove everything on the interior of this retail space to make way for a new tenant. We had to demolish all the floors, this included tile, carpet and composite vinyl flooring. We then had to grind down the floors and remove all glue and thin set for allow for the new floor finishes. We also had to remove the suspended ceiling system, the ceiling system grid, all the duct work and the plumbing lines. We removed 2 hot water heaters, and all the bathroom appliances. We then had to patch any holes on the concrete floors. We got this done in 2 1/2 days.
